Ha, what a way to start a blog post, eh? I'm talking to all our seniors about the weather. Don't panic!
Yes, we're breaking records all over the place. No, being a third generation Alaskan I can NOT remember a summer that has seen so much rain, in such concentration, all at one time. It's simply amazing, and sad all at the same time. Bridges are out, mud slides are closing roads, and flooding is rampent. It's NOT a good way to end the summer, to say the least.
One of the smaller problems we're facing in our area is the re-scheduling of sessions, particularly our location sessions. When five of our top five most popular locations are flooded or closed due to slides, well, it can make things a little difficult.
But I have to thank all our clients who have had to rearrange their schedules to make time for a newly scheduled senior session. The great attitudes we've dealt with these last two weeks has been nothing short of inspiring! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We will get all our sessions shot. The rain WILL stop, the water WILL go down and the mud WILL be taken off the road (preferably before the snow flies ;) ). My days are dedicated first and formost to every client who has had to reschedule. Whether your new session is 5pm on a Friday night or 10:30am on a Sunday morning (or 3pm on a Sunday, or 6 pm on a Sunday...). I will be sure that each and every session is photographed and each and every one of my seniors look amazing.
And here's Nate. A guy who is scheduled for an Ultimate Senior session. Of course the studio part of Nate's session went smoothly and we got some great photos! The rain stopped, briefly so we could even go outside for portraits. 'Course the access to Independance Mine is flooded so we weren't able to do the location portion of Nate's session. But hey, at least we got to go outside for a second!
Nate was such an awesome sport through his session. He brought some really great clothes with him AND his guitar. We had so much fun finding the perfect outfit for each shot. I have to say, my girls at the studio really enjoyed Nate's good nature and easy attitude. He was a blast to work with!
And we've got Nate on the books for (hopefully) a Monday session that will occur up at the mine. Our fingers are crossed and prayers are being said... let the rain stop and the water subside!
Thanks so much for a great session Nate. I can't wait to finish this one off!
